1. South Eastern European Paediatric Respiratory Congress

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Scientific and Organizing Committee, it is our honor, privilege and pleasure to announce the 1st South Eastern European Paediatric Respiratory Congress. It will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria from 5th to 7th November 2020.

It has been a vision for years now to organize an educational and scientific forum in South Eastern Europe on Paediatric Respiratory Medicine promoting modern practices. PRM is rapidly growing in our region and establishing exchange of knowledge and interests amongst us is urgently needed. It is our aim to bring motivated practitioners closer together and provide the opportunity for interaction among paediatricians, paediatric respiratory physicians, doctors of other specialties and subspecialties, and practicing health – care professionals, as well as experts from other parts of the world.

The 1st SEEPR Congress includes postgraduate courses to provide hands-on learning for specific topics, such as bronchoscopy, lung function testing and inhalation therapy. The main programme also includes plenary sessions, pro-con interactive sessions, grand round discussions, meet-the expert opportunities and year-in-review sessions. Moreover, it is our firm belief that presentation of original research in oral presentations and poster sessions and sharing of clinical experience through case discussions should be an integral part of this Congress from the very beginning.

Our initiative is supported by the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and we are in close collaboration with the ERS Paediatric Assembly. Indeed, it is our target to nurture a closer collaboration among our Institutions and abandon isolation permanently.

There are more than twelve countries of South – eastern Europe which are co-organizing this meeting. We are happy for and proud that we are crossing this frontier in union.

We extend a warm invitation to you and hope to see you in Sofia, one of the oldest cities in European history and unquestionably one of the most rapidly developing ones. A city that offers an attractive background of culture from the past entangled with creations of modern times.

As we prepare for activities that we hope you will enjoy, we are looking forward to meeting you in Sofia to renew old friendships and build new ones in a warm environment of scientific and social conduct.
