We are honored to invite you to the 10th Europaediatrics Congress in Zagreb and welcome you with a unique hospitality which is so typical for this charming capital of Croatia, City of Zagreb.
The 10th Europaediatrics Congress will take place in Zagreb, Croatia from 7 – 9 October 2021 and is being hosted by the Westin Zagreb Hotel, located in the very centre of Croatian capital.
The congress is the highlight of the activities of the European Paediatric Association and the Union of National European Paediatric Societies and Associations (EPA-UNEPSA).This flagship event has become a wonderful tradition of bringing together paediatricians and child health professionals from all around Europe.
Our objective is health promotion and prevention of disease and disability through primary, secondary and tertiary prevention; and where prevention is not possible to provide up-to-date evidence based treatment and optimize the health and wellbeing of the child and family and in addition promote children’s rights to health, equity and social justice. Relevant information will be provided for paediatricians and health professionals working in primary, secondary and tertiary care across Europe and internationally.
There are traces that suggest that in the area of today's Croatia there was concern for children from Roman times. The first known institution for child protection in Croatia was an orphanage in Dubrovnik mentioned in documents from the late 13th century. The first paediatrician in Croatia, Dr Radovan Marković, founded the first paediatric department at the Sestre milosrdnice University Hospital Centre in 1904. The oldest university department of paediatrics in Croatia and this part of Europe was established by Dr Ernst Mayerhofer in 1923. Since that time paediatricians in Croatia adequately monitor and actively participate in the world medical achievements and in cooperation with other specialists and other professionals provide high level healthcare for children in Croatia.
