Welcome to the 12th Dutch North Sea Emergency Medicine Conference 2019 in Egmond aan Zee!
The Dutch Society of Emergency Physicians (DSEP) was founded in Amsterdam in 1999. At that time in The Netherlands, emergency medicine as an independent medical specialty was only an idea. Nowadays, twenty years later, over 500 trained emergency physicians are working in 82 emergency departments, of which twenty five are staffed by emergency physicians 24/7. In 27 training hospitals 150 residents are being trained. In a shortperiod emergency medicine has become the future quality standard for emergency care in The Netherlands.
Since 2007 we have been organizing the Dutch North Sea Emergency Medicine Conference (DEMC). Over the years the Conference has grown in number of visitors and last year’s edition was again a great succes.
As part of these dynamic developments we are proud to host our twelfth edition of our yearly conference.
At the conference you will have the opportunity to share your experiences with colleagues from the Netherlands and broaden your knowledge about EM, through the presentations and hands on education by several workshops. In addition, EM research will be presented by oral presentations and posters. New this year is the TED EM track, where innovative ideas are shared. Of course our conference will be preceded by various pre-courses organized by national and international EM physicians.
This years edition we will celebrate the DSEPs 20th anniversary and we are proud that our organization is growing in the right direction to reach our objectives.
On behalf of all committee members we invite emergency physicians, residents and other physicians interested in emergency medicine to our conference. And we are really looking forward to welcoming you and making this edition an unforgettable event!
