13. International Congress on Early Onset Scoliosis and Growing Spine-ICEOS 2019

We are thrilled to have you join us in Atlanta for the 13th Annual International Congress on Early Onset Scoliosis. Atlanta is one of the largest cities in the southern United States and is home to a broad variety of wonderful people, broad and varied cultures, geographic landmarks, and athletic teams.

Atlanta began as a railroad hub, expanding rapidly in the early 1800’s up until the Civil War when it was nearly completely burned to the ground. The city rose back up and prospered, becoming the unofficial capital of the “New South” and a major player in the US civil rights movement of the 1950’s and 1960’s. The city has grown to the 9th largest metropolitan area in the United States with the world’s busiest airport, through which most of you will be travelling, and has hosted major sporting events such as the 1996 Olympics and the 2019 Super Bowl. Atlanta has numerous landmarks which can be visited easily on foot, by rideshare or even our metro system. The Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the US, is truly a one-of-a-kind experience, serving as home for thousands of marine species including whale sharks and Beluga whales. Nearby is the World of Coca Cola, where visitors can explore the storied history of an iconic brand while tasting a vast array of international offerings: beware of the “Beverly” flavor! Piedmont Park, the second largest intra-city park in the United States, is also a wonderful place to spend a sunny fall afternoon. Numerous excellent restaurants and bars, from downtown to Buckhead, are home to local and internationally recognized chefs.
