17. International Symposium on Apricot Breeding and Culture

Welcome to the XVII International Symposium on Apricot Breeding and Culture

We are delighted to invite you to the XVII International Symposium on Apricot Breeding and Culture, will be held under the high patronage of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Governorship of Malatya, Malatya Metropolitan Municipatility and the auspices of the International Society for Horticultural Sciences (ISHS). The event will be organized by the Malatya Apricot Research Institute and Ataturk University between 6 July and 10 July 2019 in world apricot capital Malatya, Turkey.

The Symposium will be comprised of plenary sessions, discipline focused sessions, workshops, poster session and sponsors display where delegates can formally present, promote and discuss their work and products with other delegates.

The event will include an one day technical tour (July 9) at the Apricot Research Institute and private apricot orchards located in Malatya. For interested people a visit to the unique Malatya city center and local apricot market (Şıra pazarı) will be organized. In addition, the accompanying persons will enjoy some interesting tours during the Symposium.

The Organizing Committee is attracting the world’s leading Apricot scientists across a number of disciplines, researchers and students from all Apricot growing nations. For the first time at an International Apricot Breeding and Culture Symposium, special registration fee will be provided for students. The Committee recognizes the high cost of travel to Turkeya and is endeavoring to minimize the registration costs for delegates.

The Symposium will also present delegates with attractive social program where delegates can relax and get to know new friends. In typical Turkish hospitality, delegates will experience the culture of our capital and our country.

The social program will include a welcome reception party, a gala dinner, a visit at historical villages. The symposium website includes information on registration and abstract submission, scientific program, venue, keynote speaker details, sponsorship and exhibitors opportunities.
