Dear ISCFS members, dear colleagues,
I have the pleasure to invite you to the XVIIIth meeting of the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery in Paris, September 16th-19, 2019. Following the founding meeting of our Society in the South of France in 1985 under the Presidency of Paul Tessier, and the successful meeting 10 years later in St Tropez under the leadership of Daniel Marchac, Paris now welcomes you to the birthplace of our speciality for our meeting in 2019.
I have considered, since my first participation as a resident in 1991, the ISCFS biennial scientific meeting, as the most relevant forum in the field of craniofacial surgery.
The format of the meeting will be scientifically dense, over a four days period, covering most aspects of craniofacial care, including latest developments in craniosynostosis, craniofacial research in regenerative medicine, neurosurgical aspects related to reconstructive surgery, craniofacial clefts, comparison of distraction techniques for facial dysostoses, and without forgetting microvascular reconstruction in craniofacial care including a facial transplantation panel.
The first day (preconference symposium) will include a comprehensive evaluation of the long – term outcomes, challenges, and multidisciplinary aspects of the monobloc frontofacial advancement procedure, which was revolutionised 20 years ago by the techniques of distraction.
Our conference venue is Maison de la Chimie» which occupies the central part of the city, and is convenient for many hotels at all levels of cost and comfort.
This compact programme from Monday to Thursday will comply with the modern rules of industry sponsoring, and we hope that you will wish to spend the rest of the week in any touristic area of the country or enjoy Paris for a few more days.
Thanks to your participation and contributions, I trust this event will be another landmark in the craniofacial records of our society, and that it will further allow ISCFS to maintain its leadership as the authoritative voice of the craniofacial community.
