3. International Congress of Aerospace Medicine-ICAM 2026

Dear Colleagues and Guests,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 3rd International Conference in Aerospace Medicine (ICAM 2026), which will be held in Istanbul, Türkiye, on 1–3 October 2026. This will be the first international civil aviation and space medicine meeting ever organized in Türkiye, which is a great honor for the Turkish aviation community. The Turkish Aerospace Medical Association (TAMA) is also honored to host this event, and warmly welcomes all participants.

As with the previous conferences in Paris and Lisbon, this meeting will be held under the auspices and with the joint sponsorship of:

* The Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA)

* The International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine (IAASM)

* The European Society of Aerospace Medicine (ESAM).

* The Turkish Aerospace Medical Association (TAMA).

The history of aerospace medicine in Türkiye goes back many years. After the establishment of the Turkish Air Force in 1911, many flight surgeons trained both abroad and domestically made major contributions to maintaining aviators’ medical fitness and preventing aviation accidents. In 1948, the first Air Force Hospital in our country was established, uniquely constructed in the shape of an airplane as a symbol of aviation enthusiasm. A central facility equipped with physiological training simulators also operated within this hospital.

Istanbul, Turkiye’s bridge city between Asia and Europe, not only offers the unique beauty of the Bosphorus but also hosts a multicultural heritage spanning thousands of years. The conference venue, the Bosphorus Hilton Hotel, is located in one of the most central parts of Istanbul, within walking distance of numerous shopping, dining, and historical sites. We are also planning to host a delightful gala dinner on a boat cruising along the Bosphorus in Istanbul.

At ICAM 2026, we aim to offer participants not only the beauty of Istanbul but also a true scientific feast. We firmly believe that the future of flight safety relies on advancing knowledge in aerospace medicine. This is the key to reducing accidents, where the human factor plays a predominant role. Our scientific program will feature the latest knowledge and research findings, covering a broad spectrum from civil and military aviation to space medicine and exploration.

During the conference, we will also host the 72nd International Congress of Aviation and Space Medicine (ICASM), the 9th European Congress of Aerospace Medicine (ECAM), and the 5th Turkish Aerospace Medical Platform Congress (TAMP).
