EAA Virtual Annual Congress

Dear Colleagues,

We cordially welcome you to the website of the First EAA Virtual Annual Congress – to be held from 26-28 May 2021! It was with a heavy heart that the EAA Management Committee decided to abandon the idea of a large on-site gathering in 2021, with the corona pandemic forcing our hand. However, gloom has given way to excitement, as a large team of talented and dedicated people has come together to deliver to you a great congress experience nonetheless! Experience EAA 2021 from the comfort of your own home or office – and without spending time, money and CO2 on travel! Also, we can still look forward to Bucharest, the original 2020 Congress venue: Catalin and his team are not giving up. They are “back in line” to host the 2024 Congress physically in Romania’s capital – just as planned!

Our concept of EAA 2021 reflects the EAA principles. In addition to established formats now taken online (such as paper presentations, symposia, and the PhD Forum), EAA 2021 will also feature new events related to teaching and education. The massively reduced congress fee reflects the reduced cost to the EAA – we hope it will encourage as many of you as possible to attend. Last but not least: There will be a Doctoral Colloquium around EAA 2021. The format – physical, online or hybrid – will be decided and communicated later.
