ESOs International and Vision Science and Optometry Conference-EIVOC 2020

Dear Friends

Greetings from the organizing and scientific teams of ESO’s International and Vision Science & Optometry Conference (EIVOC 2020). This is going to be the fourth EIVOC organized by the Elite School of Optometry and the optometry department of Sankara Nethralaya, units of Medical Research Foundation. The seed for the EIVOC was planted by Dr. Navin Jayakumar and Ms. Arathy Kartha, who during their casual evening interaction in the Sankara Nethralaya coffee shop came out with the idea of the international conference. When this was brought to the notice of the then Director Academics, Dr. K Ravishankar, and our beloved Chief Dr. S S Badrinath, they immediately supported the idea and our first EIVOC happened in 2005, Chennai where we had almost 700 delegates attended. Since then there is no stop, every five years, it has been conducted in a grand manner. In the year 2015, it saw almost 1200 delegates and in 2020 we are expecting almost 2000 delegates to participate in it.

EIVOC 2020 theme of the conference is "Exploring the future of eye care – 2020 & Beyond". The experts from different parts of the world and from India will deliver the lectures, conduct symposium, and workshops during one day of pre-conference on 13th August 2020 and during the main conference between August 14th and 16th 2020. It will be a great opportunity for all the delegates to interact with experts and other friends from different institutes.
