Paediatric Radiation Oncology Society Congress-PROS 2024

Dear Colleagues,

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to join us for the Paediatric Radiation Oncology Society Congress in Sydney, Australia from 19 to 22 June 2024. This biennial event is a highlight for all professions involved in the use of radiation to treat children’s cancer: not just radiation or clinical oncologists, but also therapeutic radiographers or radiation therapists, and radiotherapy physicists or clinical scientists (the names used for different roles vary around the world) and other members of the wider multi-professional team involved in the care of these patients.

PROS is a truly global coalition of people whose aspiration is to improve the care of children and young people with cancer through optimising the use of all forms of radiation treatment – not just photons and protons, but brachytherapy and molecular radiotherapy. Please come and meet the diverse group of people involved in this essential aspect of paediatric oncology. You will hear about clinical trials for specific diseases, gain a better understanding of multi-modality care, learn about the latest technical advances in radiotherapy delivery, see what can be done to minimise the risk of late effects and get to appreciate the psycho-social as well as physical aspects of care more deeply.

There will be a mixed format of clinical trial updates, invited presentations, proffered papers and posters, and ample time for networking with like-minded people from other countries in a warm social environment. I hope to see you then.
