It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 1st Congress of International Society for the Study of Pleura and Peritoneum (ISSPP) which will be held on 29 – 30 November 2019 in Singapore. ISSPP was established in Paris, France in 2018 with the election of founding President, Professor Marc Pocard, and made up of clinicians and scientists interested in studying the physiology and diseases of the pleura and peritoneum. Recently, there has been significant advances and interest in both understanding and treating pleural and peritoneal diseases. Various treatment modalities have been developed with encouraging results. ISSPP aims to promote research in all these areas to better understand and manage these diseases.
In our first scientific congress of ISSPP, we will cover basic and clinical research on pleura and peritoneum, and benign and malignant diseases like peritoneal carcinomatosis, primary peritoneal cancers and mesothelioma. We will discuss latest developments in treatment like HIPEC, PIPAC (Pressurized IntraPeritoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy), systemic chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy. To provide a holistic and multidisciplinary discussion, topics such as Quality of Life (QoL) will also be covered. Lastly, there will be a Pre-congress PIPAC Workshop for those interested in this specific therapy.
