10. EURETINA Winter Meeting

Dear Colleagues,

Having closely reviewed developments on COVID-19 over recent days, including updates on the travel restrictions of speakers and delegates, we regret to inform that it will not be possible to go ahead with the meeting in Vilnius this month.

It is with great sadness that the Board of EURETINA, in collaboration with the Board of the Lithuanian Society, has reached this decision. But in the interest of prioritising the health and safety of all delegates, there is unanimous agreement that it is the right thing to do amidst the current concern and disruption.

Given the high interest in this year’s Winter Meeting, and the record number of registered delegates, we are committed to ensuring that the meeting be rescheduled to take place at a more comfortable time in the future. We are therefore happy to announce that the 10th EURETINA Winter Meeting is instead being postponed until 26-27 February 2021, to take place in Vilnius.

We would like to express our gratitude to the President and Board of the Lithuanian Ophthalmology Society, who have been supportive of this decision. We have been most grateful of their active input since first discussions began on the planning of the meeting some years ago. We look forward to working with them again to make this meeting a success next year.

In the coming days we will begin the process of reimbursing registration fees to all delegates. We ask for your patience during this process and apologise for the inconvenience this change in schedule will have caused.

Finally, we would like to express the sincere thanks of the Board for your on-going support of EURETINA and look forward to seeing you in Vilnius next year.
