As per Lancet report (2019), Obesity is one of the three emerging threats to humanity, the other two being under nutrition and climate change. Being the largest association of bariatric surgeons in Asian subcontinent, the Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society of India (OSSI) is in the forefront of fight against this modern day menace - obesity.
During our 19th National Congress at Bengaluru on 24,25,26 February 2022, the progress of our efforts and scientific research in this field will be discussed threadbare. It is very important that we all work together and share our recent knowledge to further strengthen our resolve. BOMSS (British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society) has joined hands with OSSI in this regard. Hence the theme of the conference is aptly decided as-Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery: Collaborate and Consolidate.
