2. International Conference on Sustainable Cities and Urban Landscapes-ICSULA 2023

Esteemed scientists and participants,

It is my pleasure and honor to invite you to the International Conference on Sustainable Cities and Urban Landscapes (ICSULA 2023) which will be held face to face and online on October 26-27, 2023.

ICSULA 2022, the first conference on sustainable cities and urban landscapes, which attracted intense participation from different planning and design disciplines, was completed successfully and with great participation in 2022 hosted by Selçuk University Faculty of Architecture and Design (https://www.iksadkongre.com/icsula2022). Last year, within the framework of sustainable urban development, scientists from professional disciplines of various planning and design sciences contributed to the congress. Following this conference, this year “II. International Conference on Sustainable Cities and Urban Landscapes -ICSULA 2023- is being carried out and with ICSULA 2023 it is aimed to bring together qualified scientists from the world, to present their valuable research on urban studies to share them and to bring them together on an international common platform. ICSULA 2023 will be held on October 26-27, 2023 in Selcuk University, hosted by Architecture and Design Faculty. The languages ​​of ICSULA 2023 are English and Turkish.

Sustainability of cities and urban landscapes means a healthy urban life and its consistency. Here, at the same time, reference is made to the quality of urban life, which expresses both requirements and comfort. The urban quality of life in question may decrease or even disappear over time due to some negative conditions and/or natural disasters caused by “cultural-human induced-” activities.

The earthquake disaster experienced in Turkey this year necessitated the reconstruction of the future of the cities; primarily in the cities where the earthquake was experienced, in the cities where possible earthquakes may occur, and in all other cities. In other words, the "urban renaissance", which includes an innovative approach to planning and design...
