On behalf of whole fraternity of Indian Academy of Echocardiography, I have the privilege to welcome you for this exciting IAE meeting at Kolkata. This meeting is always the premier cardiovascular imaging educational activity of the year.: The IAE has grown significantly since its inception in 1994, hence this is a silver jubilee year which is a proud moment for all of us. The aim of the scientific committee, headed by Prof. Soumitra Kumar, will be to provide a unique educational content. Besides the engrossing case based discussion with renowned national & international faculty, the academic integration of leaders and practical real life case studies will again be the hallmark of this meeting. The experts will discuss state-of-the-art established and emerging technologies with particular focus on how they can be effectively applied towards clinical decision making process. Orations, key note lectures, joint sessions with leading international echo societies will be highly educative I am sure that, besides the academic feast, the organizing committee will strive to make all organizational and social engagements a memorable one. I wish the conference a great success, especially in the silver jubilee year.
