The Immunology of Diabetes Congress, is the reference conference on pathogenesis, prediction, prevention and cure of Type 1 Diabetes, organized by the Immunology of Diabetes Society (IDS) every 18 months. IDS unites the key players in the T1D field worldwide. The upcoming 20th IDS conference will take place in the old city of Bruges, Belgium, hosted by Prof. Chantal Mathieu and Dr. Lut Overbergh.
The major goal of the conference is to bring together basic and translational scientists and pharmaceutical companies and foundations interested in T1D, to share their latest achievements, discuss new developments on mechanisms by which the immune system and pancreas contribute to the development of T1D and how these new insights can lead to better prediction, prevention and eventually cure of T1D. Dedicated time will be allocated to the latest developments in clinical trials and achievements of large consortia in the field.
A top notch program, covering a wide range of topics, with state-of-the art presentation from renowned researchers, as well as oral and poster presentations from young investigators, covering the most recent technical, scientific and clinical advances on disease pathophysiology and treatment, aims at boosting new ideas and collaborations in an open spirit, all with the final goal to find a treatment for people living with the disease. Particular attention will be given to contributions by young investigators in the field.
