10. World Congress of The World Federation of Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care Societies-WFPICCS 2020

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

After much thought and deliberation, the WFPICCS Board, together with the WFPICCS20 Congress Organizing and Scientific Committees, has decided to move to a virtual meeting instead of the face to face meeting planned in Mexico City this coming December.

This decision was an extremely difficult one as we were all looking forward to catching up with you all in person and enjoying some of that famous Mexican hospitality. We sincerely thank the committees and local organizers for their understanding and continued commitment to WFPICCS20.

So, while the COVID-19 pandemic may have changed how we hold meetings as authorities have imposed travel restrictions and physical distancing, it hasn’t curbed our commitment and desire to bring the global #PedsICU community together. I’ve no doubt you’ll agree that with all that has happened over the past few months, there is an even greater need to come together and take stock; exchange our experiences and thoughts; and continue the advancement of science.

The #WFPICCS20 theme ‘Critical Care Without Borders: Intensive Caring Everywhere’ has been given a new meaning and the world has shrunk even further as we find ourselves now increasingly interconnected virtually, through different platforms.

More details and information will be available in the coming weeks as we share how this virtual experience will look, but I can assure you that the scientific exchange and networking will still be superb and have that unique WFPICCS feel and, of course, Mexican flavour.

We hope that you will join us for this reinterpreted coming together of the #PedsICU community as we celebrate our collective resilience and commitment to sharing best practices, knowledge, and forging global connections without boundaries.
